A little preparation goes a long way in protecting your belongings while in storage.
🚫 Avoid Moving In During Bad Weather
• Do not move in during rain or snow
•Wet items can cause mold, mildew, rust, and damage
• If unavoidable:
o Cover items with tarps or plastic
or Dry everything completely before placing items in your unit
📦 Packing & Preparation
• Use strong, clean, dry boxes
• Label boxes clearly
• Wrap furniture and mattresses with proper covers
• Do not seal wood or fabric tightly—allow airflow
• Avoid overfilling boxes
🏠 Inside Your Storage Unit
• Keep items off the floor (use pallets or shelving)
• Leave space between items and walls for air circulation
• Stack heavy items on the bottom
• Keep frequently needed items near the front
